MAKE YOUR DREAM TRIP MEMORIES LAST A LIFETIME

You have planned a dream trip; you have successfully executed your plan.

Your vacation is complete; you have returned home.

Do the following when you arrive back home:

1) Check that your house is secure and in order.

2) Retrieve your mail.

3) Pay any bills that are due.

4) Put your feet up and relax. If necessary, consider taking tomorrow off from work to recover from jet lag.

After you have rested for a few days, do the following:

1) Take stock of your vacation.

2) Assemble a photo album.

3) Plan a special evening with family and friends.

Take Stock of Your Vacation

1) Review your vacation.

2) Review your original vacation plan.

3) Answer the following questions and any others you might have.

Did everything go as you had planned? If not, why?

What worked well with the plan that you designed?

What did not work with with the plan that you designed?

What planning techniques would you keep as is?

What planning techniques would you modify or change outright?

Were you as well-prepared as you could have been?

Did some unanticipated problem(s) occur that you were not prepared for? If yes, how could you be better prepared the next time?

Any other question that comes to mind

Assemble a Photo Album

If you have taken photographs of your vacation, either have the film developed or download the digital pictures onto your computer.

1) Identify where each picture was taken.

2) Organize the photos in a geographic sequence, thematic sequence or by some other method that makes sense to you.

3) Assemble your pictures into a digital or physical photo album.

Plan a Special Evening with Family and Friends

Consider inviting your family and/or friends over for a thematic evening focused on your recent vacation.

1) Plan a special dinner.

2) Serve a special alcohol beverage from your vacation destination.

3) Play background music from your vacation destination.

4) Show everyone your photo album.

Plan Your Next Dream Trip

When you complete all of the above, consider planning your next vacation.

Incorporate the changes that you identified above and repeat the whole process over again. It is that easy. The only difference this time is that now you are an expert.
