How to Enjoy Great Travel Health on Your Vacation - start with a visit to your nearest travel clinic.

Good travel health comes with visiting the travel medicine clinic. Staff will prepare and educate you about your destination and any issues of concern. These include:

• Immunizations and Malaria

• Drinking Water and Food Safety

• Insect Bites

• Sunburn

• Jet Lag

• Fear of flying

• Allergies

• Altitude Sickness

• Any other issue of concern that is specific to your destination

Visit the U.S. Center for Disease Control website or the Public Health Agency of Canada website to find the nearest travel clinic in the U.S. or Canada respectively.

Why should you visit a travel clinic rather than your own family doctor?

Because your family doctor likely does not do enough travel medicine nor does he/she have access to the necessary computer program with which to highlight diseases of concern.

You will be charged a consultation fee at the travel clinic. Don’t hesitate to phone and ask staff how much the consultation fee is.

As a final point, the well-prepared traveler always brings a first aid kit.
