Travel Insurance

A travel insurance policy often includes trip cancellation, trip interruption and delay, baggage loss, accident, sickness, flight insurance and sometimes medical evacuation.

Coverage isn’t necessary for all types of travel but you should definitely consider it for longer, more expensive trips. Furthermore, if you do not have the financial resources to purchase your trip a second time, ensure that you are adequately protected. You should aim to cover the cost of anything and everything that is not reimbursable.

Special attention should be given to:

1) Coverage in the event that your airline folds.

2) Coverage while you travel in a foreign country.

3) Coverage for airlifting in the event you are traveling in a country with poor medical care.

Compare policies. Read the fine print carefully for what is/is not covered.

Don't forget to include the cost of the policy in your travel budget.
